From the Humboldt Viewpoint at the actually rather unspectacular, 683 m high Buková hora (German Zinkenstein or Buchberg) you have a wonderful view of the Elbe Valley south of Děčín, the Erzgebirge and the Bohemian Central Mountains. With good visibility you can see as far as Prague. It owes its name to a visit by Alexander von Humboldt in 1837.
The mountain is easily recognisable by the television tower standing on it, which is 223 metres high and can often be seen from a great distance. It was built in 1975, but is not open to the public.
There is a small ice cave in the immediate vicinity, where ice can still be found even in summer. In the surrounding area many traces of earlier settlements can be found.
