The tasks of the two secretariats include:

• management of the two municipal associations and the EUROREGION ELBE/LABE,
• consultations for citizens, institutions, cities and municipalities,
• management of the small projects fund,
• preparation and implementation of own projects,
• coordination of the expert groups,
• PR and
• the representation of municipal interests in cross-border issues at all levels from the state to the EU, e.g. in the preparation and implementation of funding programmes.
