Committees

The Euroregion Elbe/Labe is formed by two separate legal entities, the Kommunalgemeinschaft Euroregion Oberes Elbtal/Osterzgebirge e.V. on the German side and the Svazkem obcí Euroregion Labe on the Czech side. The EUROREGION ELBE/LABE has a number of committees and expert groups. Some of them belong to the two municipal associations separately, others are joint bodies.

Joint committees

Council of Euroregion Elbe/Labe

The joint council of the EUROREGION ELBE/LABE is not only responsible for the election of the presidium, but above all for strategic decisions on the work and development of the Euroregion. It usually meets once a year.

Presidium of the Euroregion Elbe/Labe

On the one hand, the Presidium represents the EUROREGION ELBE/LABE externally, especially in the person of the two Co-Presidents. On the other hand, it discusses the long-term development of the Euroregion.

Committees of Kommunalgemeinschaft Euroregion OE/OE

General Assembly of KG Euroregion

The General Assembly of the Kommunalgemeinschaft Euroregion is its supreme body. It elects the representatives in the other bodies, decides on the budget and takes all fundamental and legally required decisions. It meets once a year, usually in late autumn.

Working Committee of KG Euroregion

The working committee meets several times a year and takes important decisions that go beyond the powers of the executive committee, mainly due to the strategic importance or financial impact.

Executive Committee of KG Euroregion

The Executive Committee represents the municipal association externally and takes decisions which are due in the course of the year and whose significance is not so great that a decision by the Working Committee would be necessary, usually concerning the current business of the municipal association.

General Assembly of Euroregion Labe

The General Assembly (Sněm) of the Euroregion Labe is its supreme body. It elects the representatives in the other bodies, decides on the budget and takes all basic decisions. It meets once a year, usually in spring.

Council of Euroregion Labe

The Council of the Euroregion Labe (not to be confused with the joint Council of the Euroregion Elbe/Labe) meets several times a year and takes important decisions that go beyond the competences of the Presidium.

Presidium of Euroregion Labe

The Presidium of Euroregion Labe represents the municipal association externally and takes decisions which are due in the course of the year and whose importance is not so great that a decision by the Council would be necessary, usually concerning the current business of the municipal association.
