They are a constant in the Czech big band scene: ONDŘEJ HAVELKA & HIS MELODY MAKERS . They interpret the jazz, swing and dance music of the 1920s to the early 1940s in a very inimitable way. The artistic director and brains behind the big band, Ondřej Havelka, is probably the most gifted entertainer on the Czech jazz scene. He and his Melody Makers, founded in the 1990s, bring the music-making style of the time perfectly to life - with a lot of charm and kilos of brilliantine in their hair. During their performances, the Big Band plays on authentic musical instruments from the interwar period, and the microphones are also from this era. That's why the concerts by Ondřej Havelka & His Melody Makers have a very special flair - they enchant the audience with their originality and let them immerse themselves musically and visually in this long-forgotten time, which has a steadily growing fan base again today.
