The POTSCHAPPLER ADVENT has been Freital's social Christmas market for those on a budget since 2005. Under the motto "Fairy tales from one world", the socio-cultural center LIFEART, together with social and cultural associations, schools and kindergartens, decorates the square in front of the Potschappler train station on the 3rd weekend in Advent. With a great deal of commitment, joy and creativity, a somewhat different kind of Advent market is created, where the focus is not on commerce but on people.
The festively decorated stalls and huts are a place for crafting, celebrating and marveling. Home-made products and creations are offered for little money. In addition, the committed institutions provide culinary specialties, sweet and savory treats for the physical well-being of the visitors. A fairytale stage program and great hands-on activities for children round off the Christmas market. Of course, Santa Claus will also be visiting and handing out small gifts, which have been lovingly wrapped as donations.
