Every year on the 1st Advent, the traditional Christmas market takes place in the Altenberg district of Schellerhau with stalls at the Heimatstuben. Music, choirs and concerts create an atmospheric setting and, of course, mulled wine and other delicacies are also served.
The highlight of the afternoon is the "Great Christmas Mountain Parade" from the Oberer Gasthof to the Heimatstuben. Over 70 participants show various Christmas pictures.

- 13:30 Advent concert with music students in our village church
- 14:00 Christmas market at the Heimatstuben
- 14:30 Collection of the giant stollen at Cafe Rotter - followed by stollen cutting at the Christmas market
- 15:30 Start of the uphill procession at the Oberer Gasthof
- 17:00 hrs Performance by "Die Stimm'Reichen" from Reichstädt
