The year is 1980. Richard signed Charter 77 while drunk and more or less by mistake, and since then trouble and bad luck have been on his heels. And today is the icing on the cake: this afternoon he has a dentist's appointment and a laceration on his eighth bone that he is frankly dreading. But before that happens, he experiences a series of much bigger disasters that make pulling teeth seem like fun. A deadline at work, an ingratiating colleague who just doesn't understand that it was just an oversight, an ultimatum from his boss to revoke his signature on the charter, a cracked shoulder strap at home that hides an old rusty pistol, the unexpected fatherhood of a fifteen-year-old son that he must take on and the ever-present shadow of the aesthete that has been cast over him. The day of an idiot who has everything to lose, or who finally finds himself...
