Director Ondřej Trojan's 2010 comedy follows the fates of four teenagers in Prague in the 1970s. Initially 15 years old, they are presented with their identity cards in a grand ceremony, each in their own way and yet together they try not to lose their common sense and humor in the totalitarian state, but also not to get involved with the regime. They live through a series of episodes, some ridiculous with a touch of absurd grotesqueness, others dramatic or tragic. At 18, their main goal is to avoid military service, which everyone fears like nothing else.
The film offers a glimpse into the era of totalitarianism in the 1970s with typical enigmatic Czech humor and shows what young people and adults had to deal with at the time. Despite the serious subject matter and the inevitable tragic moments, the viewer is not left feeling depressed. Such a balancing act is not unusual for Czech films and contributes to their popularity. The movie also has a lot of 70s flair.
From 7 p.m. onwards, you can enjoy delicious grilled food and cool drinks. There will also be a bouncy castle and goal wall shooting for younger guests. The movie starts at 9 pm. In case of bad weather, the event will take place in the SC Einheit hall in Markersbach at the village community center.
Admission is free. The event is supported by the small project fund of the Elbe/Labe Euroregion.
