The 33rd year of the Osecká kytara (Osek Guitar) festival will take place on June 13 at the Osek outdoor swimming pool. The festival consists of two parts: In the morning there will be an exciting sports competition with teams from the surrounding area, while the afternoon and evening will be dedicated to country and folk music.
Guests from Germany are expressly invited to this festival. The organizer, FrýTajm Osek, goes to great lengths to overcome any language barriers and promote a cheerful get-together.
Sporting team competition
In the morning competition, teams of 4 to 5 people compete against each other. Under the motto "Survivor - on your own", you can expect entertaining tasks, real teamwork and, above all, lots of fun! It's not about Olympic performance, but about the joy of taking part, representing your town and enjoying a wonderful day together.
In this competition, teams from many towns in the area compete against each other. The German-Czech border should not be an obstacle, which is why teams from Saxony are particularly welcome.

After the competition, the whole family can enjoy the outdoor pool area (see below) and spend a great, relaxing day here.
Country & Folk
From midday there will be performances by children's groups who will entertain the audience with music and dance.
The Country & Folk Festival with various artists from the Czech Republic and Germany will then begin at around 3 pm.
Schovanky
Founded in 1971, Schovanky is the first all-female country band in Europe. Over the decades, more than 30 members have joined the band - all women. The musicians combine classic country, bluegrass and modern folk in their repertoire, performing both original Czech compositions and international classics. Their decades-long stage presence and numerous tours at home and abroad have earned them the status of a legendary institution in the European country music scene. In 1978, they even appeared on stage with Johnny Cash during his tour of Czechoslovakia.
B-Country
Founded in 2021, the band b.country from Thum in the Ore Mountains is a passionate country and folk formation dedicated to the authentic interpretation of American country classics and modern hits. With their versatile instrumentation and polyphonic vocals, the group manages to bring the special atmosphere of freedom and campfire romance to the stage.
Sabina Uxová
The 23-year-old artist from Lonín comes from a family of musicians and can already look back on numerous successes in competitions such as the Kinder-Porta or the Talent Awards. In addition to solo performances and her work for the organization "Ulice Dětem", where she creates children's programs at schools, she has gained experience as a guest musician with Karel Kahovec and the Country Ladies.
Ina Schirmer
The artist, who has her roots in Olbernhau in the Ore Mountains, discovered her passion for the guitar in 2007 and has since successfully turned her hobby into her profession and personal calling. In her own music school "Klimperkiste", she passes on her knowledge to pupils of all ages and regularly performs in various formations at concerts, parties and recitals. Her musical work is characterized by a close connection to nature, the cultivation of the Erzgebirge dialect and an enriching cross-border cooperation with Czech music friends.
Lubomír Stranďa Stráník
Lubomír "Stranďa" Stráník is a renowned Czech musician from the Bohemian Ore Mountains, who is best known as a founding member and formative figure of the folk and country band Stráníci. He is regarded as a virtuoso guitarist and expressive singer who has helped shape the Czech folk scene for decades and has won numerous prestigious awards, including at the Porta Festival.
Bob a bobci
Bob a Bobci is a traditional folk group from northern Bohemia that has developed from a hitchhiking band to an independent ensemble with a strong focus on authorship since its foundation in 1995. The band has released several albums and received prestigious awards at the "Porta" festival, among others.
Country Dance School
During the breaks between performances, you can take part in a free country dance school and take German-Czech relations to a new level by dancing.
Relaxation in the outdoor pool
You can spend the whole day at the Osek open-air swimming pool, which has something for all ages: you can take a dip in the water, go on the treetop path (called a 3D labyrinth here), play mini-golf or simply relax by the beautiful, calm lake (see pictures below). There is plenty to eat and drink, and if you prefer something more cultural, you can book a guided tour of the monastery church. The grounds of the outdoor pool are really beautiful and ideal for a wonderfully relaxing day.
