Splendor - Tears - Disasters - Closer than ever.
After the flood of 2013, no effort was spared to rebuild the Dresden Fortress. Tucked away between the art academy and the Albertinum, it is accessible by way of a lift down from Brühl's Terrace. The mighty walls surrounding the 400-year-old Brick Gate give an inkling of the bellicose background to courtly splendour. The very space where Johann Friedrich Böttger invented European porcelain in 1707 is now the setting of the 'Fortress Xperience' multimedia extravaganza. On an area of 1,500 square metres, breathtaking 360° projections and evocative audio technology bring the history of what was once Germany's most modern bastion fortress back to life.Festung Xperience
