Provision with power, gas, long-distance heat and water has contributed decisively to shaping our day and age and introduced fundamental changes to private life and the economy. Over a period of more than 180 years, the central power station in Dresden was an important site for gas - and later electricity - production. The facility that generated energy until just a few years ago now houses the DREWAG "Kraftwerk" ("Power Station"), Dresden's energy museum. Power comes out of the socket, water out of the faucet, and gas out the hob! But before that can happen, a long technical process has to take place. Its explanation is anything but boring, as the "Power Station" shows with various objects and historical reports dating back more than a hundred years. Suspenseful multimedia shows, for example, tell the story of gas supply in Dresden or acquaint children with the route water takes from the source to waste water treatment.
