Petr Zelenka tells the story of Jaromír Nohavica and the band Čechomor in an unconventional way and takes a documentary look at the time in which the singer recovered from his alcohol addiction. The film is enriched with interviews not only with the actors, but also with other interesting people, which undoubtedly include the musician Jaz Coleman and the Dutch documentary filmmaker Jan Holman (Jan Prent), who wants to catch Nohavica at the moment when he is back starts drinking. A skilled mystifier, Zelenka also has scenes in his film with a surreal, mystical - even supernatural - tone.
The filming of the film took place in 2001 in various locations across the country, and in addition to the game scenes, the film team also shot concerts by Nohavica and Čechomor, which are an important part of the plot. "It's a film about leaving the world with dignity. Or it's a film about friendship, or about four musicians who witness a miracle. It can also be about how people you meet change your own life can change," says Petr Zelenka about his film.
This film will be shown as part of the "Czech Film Wednesday" series, as always in the original version with German subtitles.
