The former gasometer has been showing 360° panoramas (including accompanying exhibitions) by artist Yadegar Asisi on a rotating basis since 2006. With a height of 27 meters and a circumference of 105 meters, these are among the largest of their kind in the world. Each 360° panoramic artwork is viewed from a 15-metre-high visitor tower in the middle of the exhibition building. Themed background music and a 15-minute day and night light visualization round off the journey through time.
Until the end of 2025, visitors to Panometer Dresden can immerse themselves in the exotic world of the Amazon and discover a natural world that could not be more beguiling and yet is often unknown.
The two visually stunning panoramas "Dresden 1945" and "Dresden in the Baroque" are shown repeatedly at longer intervals, offering a vivid insight into Dresden's past. While one exhibition shows the extent of the bombing in February 1945, "Dresden in the Baroque" is dedicated to Dresden's most opulent and magnificent era in the 18th century.
