During the free tour, which is always possible, you will see various species of animals, including alpacas, woolly pigs, pot-bellied pigs, zebus, Valaisian black-neck goats, four-horned sheep and ponies. Feeding the goats is particularly popular with children.

The zoo Höckendorfer Heide, which opened in 2002, is run by members of an association and is therefore a fine example of civic involvement.
