After the flood of the century in 2002, previously unknown 800-year-old silver mines were discovered under the town of Dippoldiswalde. The MiBERZ shows archaeological finds from the UNESCO World Heritage Site Erzgebirge/Krušnohoří Mining Region that are unique throughout Europe and give an insight into the life and work of medieval miners above and below ground. Early technologies and equipment used in the mining and processing of silver ore are explained in detail. The over 800 year old, rare exhibits impress with their excellent condition. Numerous media stations show vividly which underground mining worlds are hidden directly under the feet of the visitor.
