Děčínský Sněžník

Prominent, broad tabular mountain with lookout tower

The Děčínský Sněžník is with 723 m the highest mountain of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. On the southern edge of the large summit plateau, the Schneeberg tower has been standing since 1864, which was built in connection with land surveying. At its foot there is a restaurant and a snack bar.

From the lookout tower (but also without it) you have a truly magnificent view in all directions, as far as Dresden or the Giant Mountains, and of course to the surrounding Saxon-Bohemian Switzerland, the Bohemian Central Mountains and the Ore Mountains.
